TRIFARI 1944 Alfred Philippe Gold Plated Jelly Belly Orchid Flower Brooch
Very Rare 1944 TRIFARI designed by Alfred Philippe Jelly Belly gold plated orchid brooch in very good condition. Collectors item! The Parisian born Alfred Philippe trained at the prestigious design school ‘L’Ecole Boulle.’ After emigrating to the US he worked as a fine jewellery designer for William Scheer Inc., one of the foremost manufacturing jewelers of the Art Deco era. Scheer created items for Cartier & Van Cleef & Arpels and Philippe was responsible for several full collections for these prestigious houses. Following the Crash in 1929, Philippe moved to Trifari as a designer, eventually becoming the head designer where he worked until his retirement in 1968. His fine jewelry experience strongly influenced his designs and jewelry manufacturing techniques.Approximate Measurements: Length 3”, Width 2.3” Made in USA.
