Everyone Praised Meghan Markle For Doing This At Queen Elizabeth's Funeral

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's wife, has joined the British royal family for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth.

Although she has had a distant relationship with her partner's grandmother in recent months, the Duchess of Sussex has been widely praised for her attitude at state funerals.

Meghan Markle's Tribute To Queen Elizabeth

Although some probably did not expect it, Meghan Markle (41 years old) was highly praised for the attitude she showed during the funeral service of Queen Elizabeth II. The Duchess of Sussex chose to respect the significance of this important day and paid attention to all the rules set by the Royal House.

Meghan Markle opted for traditional all-black mourning attire as she paid tribute to her husband's grandmother in London today. She honored the memory of the late Queen Elizabeth by wearing a set of diamond pearl earrings the monarch gave her as a gift. Earlier this week she wore the same pair for the funeral procession to Westminster Hall.

Meghan Markle received the earrings in 2018 and according to royal analysts, they are a miniature version of a pair of earrings favored by Queen Elizabeth.

The Pearl & Diamond Earrings - A Praised Gift From Queen Elizabeth

During an explosive Oprah interview last year, Meghan Markle spoke about the Queen's gift and how much it meant to her. She told Oprah Winfrey that the monarch had given her some "beautiful" pearl earrings and a matching necklace.

"The Queen, for example, has always been wonderful to me. I mean, we had one of our first joint engagements together. She asked me to join her. We had breakfast together that morning, and she'd given me a beautiful gift, and I just really loved being in her company. And I remember we were in the car," Meghan Markle told Oprah.

Oprah asked her what the gift was, and Meghan Markle replied: "She gave me some beautiful pearl earrings and a matching necklace."

"We were in the car going between engagements, and she has a blanket that sits across her knees for warmth. And it was chilly, and she was like, 'Meghan, come on,' and put it over my knees, as well."

"Nice", Oprah replied.

Meghan Markle Surprised Everyone With Her Attitude

Although recently Meghan Markle and Queen Elizabeth had a rather cold relationship, the duchess impressed the public for she decided to strictly follow all the rules imposed by the protocol on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, starting with the dress code.

It is well known that the Duchess of Sussex prefers sophisticated outfits that make her sported. But now, for the state funerals, to the surprise of many, Prince Harry's partner chose a sober outfit, adapted to the royal rules.

Last but not least, unlike on other occasions, Meghan Markle was very discreet. She cut a solemn figure as she arrived for the funeral of the Queen at Westminster Abbey and she appeared deep in thought, as she sat alongside her husband and his cousin, Princess Beatrice in Westminster Abbey.
