What NOT To Do When Choosing Shoes - Mistakes To Avoid

Have you ever instantly fallen in love with a pair of shoes to discover after you bought them that you will never wear them? This is a consequence of the mistakes we make when choosing shoes.

Besides the fact that wearing the wrong pair of shoes might become a (temporary) torture to our feet, you should also know that improper footwear endangers the health of our feet.

So, pay attention, the passion for shoes, if not supported by reason, can turn into a disaster for your feet. Do you know why?
Mistakes To Avoid When Choosing Shoes
No matter how much you like a pair of shoes, remember to avoid a series of mistakes that can make them unusable in the end.

Mistakes To Avoid When Choosing Shoes

1. Buying The Wrong Size

This is, perhaps, one of the most common mistakes women do when buying shoes. We’re all guilty of sometimes squeezing our feet into too-tight shoes just because they look beautiful. But buying the wrong shoes for the width of your feet can cause discomfort and in time can deform your feet.

There are women whose feet are too narrow or too wide and for this reason, they end up wearing half-sizes. If you are in such a situation and you wear half-sizes, then choose the next size.

If one foot is larger than the other, buy a size that fits the larger foot. If your feet feel compressed in a particular shoe, ask if it comes in a wider size. Buying shoes that are half-size bigger won't solve the problem if the shoes are not wider.
2. Sacrificing Comfort for Beauty - High Heels That Give Pain

The heel is not limited to its strictly aesthetic role. The balance of your body is as important as comfort. Whether the shoes are low-heeled or high-heeled, they should fit snugly under the heel.

You should also remember that regardless of how beautiful they are, shoes with very high heels and narrow toes could be an uninspired combination especially if your feet are not very thin.

If the heels are too high and the body is too narrow, or the shoes rub the back of your ankle, you can be sure that wearing them will make you feel like the Little Mermaid in the classic fairy tale.

3. Choose Sports Shoes That Are Not Proper For The Sport You Practice

If you are used to playing basketball, then you need shoes with heels that stabilize your ankle. Jogging sessions require sports shoes that support the sole. If you play sports with casual walking shoes, you risk ending up with serious foot pain.

4. Ignoring Details

How many times have you paid attention to your inner seams? How many times have you checked that the zippers are working or that the straps are adjustable? All of these items can cause bruising, skin irritation, and pain in the legs.

5. Choosing Synthetic Materials

Even if those shoes displayed in front of your eyes conquered you and you have already imagined dozens of outfits in which you could integrate them, check first of all the quality of the material. Invest in a pair of leather shoes rather than buying synthetic ones. The leather gives the shoes a flawless look even after using them for a long time and in addition, the comfort of the feet will definitely be guaranteed.

6. Shopping at The Wrong Time Of The Day

The preferred time to buy footwear is later in the day. Our feet naturally expand during the day. So, a pair of shoes that fits well in the morning can become an instrument of torture if worn in the evening, on a pair of tired and swollen feet.

7. Forgetting About Socks

Wear the same type of socks to the store that you intend to wear with the shoes. Otherwise, when getting home with the news shoes you may see that they are too narrow or too wide if you'll have to wear them with a different kind of socks than the one you had when you bought them.
