Actress Jodie Turner-Smith's Jewelry Was Stolen From Her Hotel Room in Cannes
The jewelry of British actress Jodie Turner-Smith, a revelation of the "True Blood" series, was stolen from her hotel room in Cannes. Nice judicial police have opened an investigation.
The Judicial Police in Nice announced on Monday, July 12th, that during the Cannes Film Festival, Jodie Turner-Smith's jewelry was stolen. "The investigation is ongoing," a police source told AFP, confirming the information published by Nice-Matin and the Hollywood Reporter.
It was not immediately clear if the jewelry was bought by Jodie Turner-Smith or if it was lent to her by a famous brand, a common practice during the Cannes Film Festival, reports Le Figaro.
The theft was committed "on Friday in her hotel room, and the actress and her entourage contacted the police during the day," the source said, stressing that the value of the jewelry does not reach the tens of thousands of euros initially mentioned by the press and does not represent "a significant amount "compared to the amounts involved in the various previous events on the Cote d'Azur.
"It is not possible to rule out the possibility that this theft was committed by someone else," the source added.
Actress Jodie Turner-Smith, discovered in the American series "True Blood", stood out in the 2019 film Queen & Slim made by American director Melina Matsoukas. This year she was invited to Cannes to participate in the Women in Motio broadcast.
Of British nationality, the actress grew up in a family of Jamaican origin, first in Great Britain and then in the United States.
