Britney Spears Lands ‘Record-Breaking’ Deal For A Tell-all Memoir Book
Famous singer Britney Spears has landed a 15 million dollars deal for the publication of an autobiographic book.
The tell-all memoir book will be about her rise to fame, her relationship with her family, and her life under a conservatorship for more than a decade, The Guardian reported.
Publisher Simon & Schuster had secured the deal for the pop star’s memoir for 15 million dollars after a massive bidding war involving several publishers.
An unnamed source told Page Six that "the deal is one of the biggest of all time, behind the Obama family." The president and first lady signed a $ 65 million deal to write more books for Penguin Random House in 2017.
Britney Spears - Under Her Father's Conservatorship For Almost 14 Years
In 2007, after her divorce from Kevin Federline, Britney Spears behaved in a chaotic manner. She lost custody of her two children, whom she often visits. The alleged nervous breakdown was the basis of her hospitalization in a rehabilitation center, and in 2008 she was placed under the conservatorship of her father. Rumors spread that the singer was forced into the arrangement, which lead to the creation of the #FreeBritney movement.
Britney Spears recently publicly condemned her sister, Jamie Lynn, who made allegations about her mental health while promoting her own memoir on Good Morning America.
Jamie Lynn said in the interview last month that Britney had once locked them both in a room while holding a knife and described her behavior over the years as "erratic, paranoid and spiraling".
In response, Spears accused her sister of "sell[ing] a book at my expense".

Britney Spears - Under Her Father's Conservatorship For Almost 14 Years
The deal comes months after the famous singer successfully fought a court-ordered conservatorship, which had been put in place by her father, for almost 14 years.
The 39-year-old singer described her situation as "abusive" at her first audition when she claimed that she was prevented from marrying and having other children.
Britney also complained that she had been forced to work by conservators despite begging for breaks and that she had no control over her finances.
Jamie Spears has been his daughter's legal conservator for 12 years, due to concerns around her mental health. He temporarily stepped aside from this role in 2019, citing his own health problems.
