Britney Spears Released "Hold Me Closer" With Elton John
Britney Spears released "Hold Me Closer," a remix of Elton John's "Tiny Dancer". It's her first song in six years!
Britney’s guardianship was withdrawn in November 2021. This means that the celebrity has regained control over her money, career, and personal life and no longer needs to pay a group of experts and attorneys to manage her affairs.
The celebrity has been hesitant to make this move, despite the demands of her followers for her to return to music.
According to Elton John, "She sang formidably well," The Guardian reported.
"Everyone claimed she was no longer able to sing. When she first began her career, she was fantastic. She can still sing, I knew it. I'm pleased with what she's accomplished."
Throughout the song, Britney Spears and Elton John sing in sync using vocal enhancements, making it challenging to hear how Spears' voice has evolved since her previous single.
"Hold Me Closer" - Britney Spears & Elton John's Song
Hold Me Closer shares the same sonic foundation as Elton John and Dua Lipa's duet, Cold Heart, which peaked at number one on the global charts in 2021.
Elton John frequently performs remixes of his hit songs with a duet and that combination won over various radio stations and made Elton John's classics more accessible to the younger crowd.
Elton John also confessed that he understands what the singer has been going through since her life has been highly publicized: "When you're young, it's challenging. Britney was heartbroken. When I left rehab, I was also like that. I am extremely familiar with the feeling, and it is awful."
Since the release of her previous studio album, "Glory," in 2016, Britney Spears has not put out a new single. She has since been pleased to have three tracks from that album released in 2020.
