Diego Maradona's Debts: His Parents' House, Two BMWs & A Letter From Fidel Castro, Put Up For Auction
The unusual auction will take place, online, on December 19, 2021, L’Express reported.
The decision to organize this auction with some of Maradona's precious belongings was taken by judge Luciana Tedesco and it will be conducted with the consent of the heirs of the former soccer superstar.
On the other hand, goods that have a sentimental value, such as T-shirts offered by other players, will be excluded from the auction.
Maradona Received A Letter From Fidel Castro
The letter signed by Fidel Castro is proof of the friendship between the former Cuban Communist leader and Diego Armando Maradona. The letter was received by the former football player when he was in the Caribbean Islands, to treat his alcohol and drug addiction.
One of the BMW cars has Maradona's signature on the windshield and its starting price at the auction is 165,000 dollars.
The house offered by Maradona to his parents is located in the Villa Devoto district of Buenos Aires.
The winnings generated by this auction will be used to pay the debts and expenses of the former footballer and will not be divided between the heirs.
Friendly Match In Memory Of Maradona
UEFA and CONMEBOL have reached an agreement for a match between the winners of the European Championship and the "Copa America". Thus, Italy and Argentina will play a friendly in memory of Diego Maradona, but the date has not yet been announced.
