According to Ok Magazine, the man told "EsDiario" that the problems between the Colombian singer and the footballer have a clear reason: money, not women, as they think.

Roberto Garcia says that Gerard Pique asked the artist, who is the mother of his children, for a substantial loan with the idea of making an investment. But Shakira reportedly refused to give him the money after being advised to do so by her parents.
Roberto Garcia said, "I know from someone very close to her that their problems were financial. Shakira refused to give him money because she doesn't want to mix money with love. That's also the reason why they kept their financial accounts at home and everything was divided in two."
The man also said that the singer never thought of marrying Pique, never considered it, but she liked him to be the father of her children.
Shakira announced her split from Gerard Piqué in a press release: "I regret to announce that our paths will go in separate directions. For the sake of our children, who are at the top of our priorities, please respect our privacy. Thank you for your understanding."
Following the announcement of their split, the pair traveled together to the Czech Republic, where they went to support one of their sons in a competition.
