How Did Prince Harry Knew Meghan Was His Soul Mate?
Prince Harry realized Meghan Markle was his "soul mate" during one of their trips to Africa.
The Duke of Sussex, 37 years old, made the confession while giving a speech in honor of Nelson Mandela International Day at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
On this occasion, Prince Harry shared about his own deeply personal connection to Africa and the way it has connected him to the women he loves/loved the most - his wife and his mom Princess Diana.
"For most of my life, it has been my lifeline, a place where I found peace and healing time and time again," Prince Harry said in his speech. "It's where I felt closest to my mother and sought solace after she died, and where I knew I had found a soulmate in my wife."
Africa - A Special Place That Connected Harry And Megan
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, 40 years old, visited Africa twice during their relationship and once after they married.The Royal pair first traveled to Botswana shortly after they started dating in July 2016 and returned in August to mark Meghan's birthday. The duchess was 36 years old.
"I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana. We camped out with each other under the stars. She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic," Prince Harry told the BBC in 2017 after their engagement.
"So then we were really by ourselves, which was crucial to me to make sure that we had a chance to know each other."
Days after launching their joint Instagram account in April 2019, Harry and Meghan posted a photo from their second trip to Botswana, which showed them putting a satellite collar on an elephant to help activists track animals and protect them.
The two got married in May 2018, at the Chapel of St. George in London at Windsor Castle, and the wedding was attended by royalty and celebrities alike.
It is to be said that the engagement ring Harry gave to Megan was created with a diamond from Botswana as a reminder of their special time together there.
Four years later after the marriage, Harry and Megan became parents to Archie and his 1-year-old sister Lilibet "Lili" Diana. And they look just as in love now as they did in those early days. Like soulmates do.
