Discover The Most Expensive Watch In The World
It's not made of some very rare material, it didn't belong to some international star or crowned head, but it still reached a record of 31 million dollars! That's how much is worth the Patek Philippe watch acquired by an Asian businessman at auction.
The collector's item is a Grandmaster Chime 6300A-010 made by the famous brand synonymous with ultimate luxury and elegance.

The first and only Grandmaster Chime in steel – a very rare metal in the Genevan manufacture’s collection and particularly uncommon for a grand complication.
Patek Philippe Made The World's Most Expensive Watch
The new world record was set at the "Only Watch" auction organized in November 2019 by the well-known auction house Christie`s.An Asian collector bid in Geneva to a value unexpectedly high even for luxury watch enthusiasts: the world's most expensive wristwatch, a unique stainless steel version of the Grandmaster Chime, was sold for an astonishing 31 million Swiss francs ($31 million).
Patek Philippe distinguished itself with other highly valuable models such as the 1527 Perpetual calendar in 18K Rose Gold or the Henry Graves Jr.
What is surprising about the Grandmaster Chime 630-010 is that we are not talking about a watch adorned with diamonds or other precious stones, but a seemingly normal watch in the premium or luxury segment. However, there are no less than 1366 parts in this wristwatch!
Why Is This Patek Philippe Watch So Special?
At first glance, it looks like a premium, exclusive watch, but like many other luxury watches, it doesn't necessarily present its value to the uninitiated. The watch has a reversible case, it features two dials, and is in fact, as a model, the most complex wristwatch created by Patek Philippe.
Launched in 2014 on the brand's 175th anniversary, the Grandmaster Chime features 20 complications, including five acoustic functions, two of which are patented global premières: an alarm that strikes the preprogrammed alarm time and a date repeater that sounds the date on demand.
The double-face case with the guilloched hobnail pattern is endowed with a patented reversing mechanism. Time side dial in rose gold, with gold Breguet numerals. Calendar side in black ebony. 18K solid gold dial plates. Shiny black alligator leather strap with square scales, hand-stitched.
Apart from its steel case, Patek Philippe's Grandmaster Chime - the most expensive watch in the world - stands out with its golden opaline and ebony-black dials as well as the inscription "The Only One" on the subsidiary alarm time dial at 12 o'clock, a further hallmark of its exclusivity.
This special luxury watch was created explicitly for "Only Watch 2019".
"Only Watch" is a charity auction that has been taking place every two years since 2005. The proceeds benefit the Monaco Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. They help fund research into this degenerative neuromuscular disorder that befalls one out of every 3500 children, adolescents, or young adults around the world.
