Jared Leto To Play Karl Lagerfeld In A New Biographic Film
The 50-year-old famous Hollywood actor Jared Leto will play the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld in a new biographic film.
"Karl has always been an inspiration to me. He was a true polymath, an artist, an innovator, a leader, and, most importantly, a kind man. When we came together with the Karl Lagerfeld team, we immediately shared a creative vision of doing a respectful ode to Karl while pushing the artistic boundaries of what a biopic can be. I’m so grateful to Karo, Pier, and Seb for allowing us to go on this journey together", Jared Leto wrote on his social media account.
Jared Leto reportedly brought in three of Karl Lagerfeld's close confidants - including the fashion house's CEO Pier Paolo Righi - as executive producers of the biopic. he is set to produce with Emma Ludbrook for their company, Paradox.

"I feel like this is a full-circle moment, and Karl would be proud of what we are doing. Karl was an artist. Period. He was a fashion designer, he was a photographer, he was an artist. There was no defining him. He was a creative powerhouse," Jared Leto told Women's Wear Daily.
The new biopic Jared Leto is set to produce with Emma Ludbrook for their company, Paradox, which is still in the early stages of development and does not yet have a director. However, the film has the Karl Lagerfeld fashion house is involved in backing the project.
The new production will chronicle "key relationships in Karl Lagerfeld's life, told through an unpredictable lens, much like the man himself".
"There are multiple relationships to explore. Karl had a career that spanned 50-plus years, so both personally and professionally he was close to a number of people. I can say we are going to home in on key relationships that convey different parts of his life," Jared Leto said.
The "Morbius" star explained that his role is to portray Karl Lagerfeld on screen "as honestly as possible."
"With celebrity, most people don't get to see under the surface. They see one or two facets of a person as presented through a public lens. Karl was a human being. We all have beauty with us and we all have faults. We have masks and then we have moments when we reveal the mask. I'm always interested in seeing what's behind the mask," Jared Leto added.
