Karl Lagerfeld will be honored in a major retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) in New York in 2023. The famous designer will also be a key figure at the next Met Gala, which usually brings together the biggest international stars, organizers announced according to AFP.
In the midst of Paris Fashion Week, the influential Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of US Vogue magazine, was among the friends of the famous German designer who gathered with other celebrities in Karl Lagerfeld's former Paris photography studio to present the exhibition.

"Karl Lagerfeld, A Line of Beauty," the first international retrospective to take place after his death in February 2019, will run from May 5 to July 16, 2023, at the Met Museum in New York and will showcase the legendary fashion designer's career from the 1950s to his last collection in 2019.
Designed to fund the Met's fashion department (The Costume Institute), the spectacular Met Gala event, which traditionally coincides with the New York museum's annual grand exhibition, will take place on 1 May 2023.
The Karl Lagerfeld exhibition will be organized in such a way as to pay tribute to the famous fashion designer, whose name is inextricably linked to that of the House of Chanel.
The organizers revealed that most of the approximately 150 creations on display will be accompanied by Karl Lagerfeld's sketches.
