Lamborghini Had Its Best Year Ever. The Most Sought-After Model Was An SUV
The Automobili Lamborghini company had its best year ever in 2021, with record worldwide deliveries of 8,405 luxury cars.
A winning growth strategy made it so that sales were up by 13% compared to 2020, bringing a double-digit growth in all three of Lamborghini’s macro-markets: America (+14 %), Asia Pacific (+14%), and EMEA (+12%).
The most wanted Lamborghini luxury car was the Urus, the SUV that costs 250,000 euros. The United States and China were the biggest markets, and Germany was the best-selling European country.
The all-time record came after a challenging two-year period for all industries, marking Lamborghini’s ability to thrive even during difficult times.
"This record has provided confirmation of three things for us: the solidity of our strategic plan, our brand’s outstanding international reputation, and the exceptional professionalism and hard work shown by our dealers, who have continued to invest alongside us at a challenging, uncertain time," says Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman, and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.
The new year - 2022 - also looks promising for the brand, with a substantial order portfolio already covering almost the entire production planned for the year.
Lamborghini has a 1.5 billion euros investment plan to electrify the range and will launch a hybrid model in 2023.
