What Is The Connection Between Johnny Depp's Girlfriend & Meghan Markle?

What is the connection between Johnny Depp's new girlfriend - his lawyer Joelle Rich - and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex?

Johnny Depp is dating the beautiful brunette Joelle Rich, the lawyer who represented him in his libel suit against The Sun - a British tabloid.

Joelle Rich is married but has separated from her husband, with the divorce not yet finalized.

Earlier this summer, the 59-year-old t the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor was said to be romantically involved with another lawyer, Camille Vasquez, who represented him in his lawsuit against his former life partner Amber Heard.

However, Vasquez quickly quashed the rumors and called the accusations "unethical" and "sexist".

Joelle Rich did not represent Johnny Depp in the U.S. case but was present in the courtroom.

According to US Weekly, Joelle Rich - who is a mother of two - was in Virginia to support the famous Hollywood actor.

"There was no professional obligation for her to be there," a source told the magazine, adding that Johnny Depp and Rich were "discreetly" meeting in hotels in the early stages of their affair.

However, it's unclear when the relationship began. During the defamation trial, several of his ex-girlfriends made appearances in the courtroom.

Page Six confirmed that Johnny Deep and Joelle Rich are a couple, despite the fact that the lawyer is married. Married, but separated, nonetheless.

Kate Moss appeared as a witness for Johnny Depp on 25 May. The supermodel, who was in a relationship with the actor from 1994 to 1998, denied that he pushed her down the stairs while they were dating.
The Connection Between Joelle Rich & Meghan Markle

But let's go back to the connection between Joelle Rich and Meghan Markle.

Few people know that Johnny Depp's new girlfriend was the Duchess of Sussex's lawyer, according to Ok Magazine. The British lawyer represented Prince Harry's wife in the case against Associated Newspapers, which owns the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday.

Meghan Markle sued the company that owns the aforementioned publications in October 2019 after it published a personal letter Markle had written to her father, Thomas, following his absence from her wedding in May 2018.

The Duchess won the lawsuit in December 2021, with the judge claiming the publication of that personal letter was a breach of her privacy and illegal.

The Mail on Sunday defended itself by noting that the Suits actress had written that letter knowing it would become public, that information from it would leak to the press, but the judge deemed that correspondence personal.

"It's a victory not only for me but for anyone who has ever felt scared to fight for justice," Meghan Markle said in a statement published by Page Six at the time.

The Mail on Sunday had to print, on its front page, an apology to the Duchess of Sussex. Joelle Rich was part of the law firm that helped Meghan win in court.
