A Rare Yellow-Purple-Orange Diamond Up For Sale at Auction
Auction house in Hong Kong will have a "star guest": a rare yellow-purple-orange diamond mounted on a ring.
The cushion-shaped diamond measures 7.01 carats and is VS2 quality, but the auction house did not disclose its estimate.
The auction will take place on April 6 at Magnificent Jewels, where Sotheby's will also feature several other top 10 colored diamonds as well as jadeite pieces.

Diamonds And Jadeite To Shine
Below is a list of the other jewelry Sotheby's will be offering at the Hong Kong auction:
- a 55.55-carat, brilliant-cut, flawless D-cut, Type Iia, unmounted oval diamond with a pre-sale estimate of HK$38 to 50 million ($4.9 to $6.4 million).
- a ring bearing a 4.01-carat round, rectangular, modified, intense pinkish-purple diamond without internal flaw for up to HKD 30 million ($3.8 million).
- a 10.33-carat heart-shaped pinkish-orange-intense diamond ring of VVS1 quality, valued at between HKD 25.3 and 40 million ($3.2 and $5.1 million).
- a necklace containing 18 oval jadeite cabochons with brilliant-cut diamonds is estimated to fetch up to HKD 28 million ($3.6 million).
- a jadeite bracelet priced between HKD 16.8 million and HKD 22 million. ($2.1 million to $2.8 million).
- a 5.07-carat cushion-shaped Burmese "pigeon's blood" ruby ring surrounded by diamonds in the shape of spurs and marquise, expected to fetch between HK$12.8 million ($1.6 million) and HK$18 million.
- a collection consisting of a detachable pendant necklace made up of seven oval cabochons of Jadeite, as well as diamonds, in addition to a pair of earrings and a ring, will be offered for prices ranging from HK$18 million ($2.3 million) to HK$28 million.
- a ring made by Jacques Timey for Harry Winston features a 16.65-carat cushion-shaped Kashmir sapphire flanked by two triangular-shaped diamonds, with a pre-sale estimate of between HK$17 million and HK$20 million ($2.2 million and $2.6 million).
- another jadeite collection, comprising a necklace with 14 oval jadeite cabochons and brilliant-cut pear-shaped and marquise-shaped diamonds, together with a ring and a pair of earrings, has a pre-sale price of between HKD12 million ($1.5 million) and HKD18 million.
