The annual list of world billionaires compiled by Forbes is full of celebrities this year including Kim Kardashian, Ye, and Rihanna.
The American business magazine published its annual report on billionaires around the world on Tuesday, which included well-known billionaires but also entrepreneurs who joined the select list for the first time. Rihanna, who is currently expecting her first child with rapper A$AP Rocky, was valued by Forbes at 1.7 billion dollars.
Rihanna, 34, is among the new billionaires, becoming the first billionaire in her native Barbados, according to Forbes. She also became Barbados's 11th "National Hero" at a ceremony in the capital of Bridgetown in November, on the same day her country became a republic.
Rihanna is ranked as billionaire no. 1729 on this year's Forbes billionaires list. She entered the rankings alongside other famous newcomers such as Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson and Melinda Gates, ex-wife of Bill Gates.
Rihanna's Barbados is not the only country that got its first-ever billionaires over the past year. Bulgaria, Estonia, and Uruguay had their billionaires too.
The new billionaires from Bulgaria are brothers Georgi and Kiril Domuschiev who founded an investment conglomerate that now spans companies in animal health, shipping, real estate, and soccer.
On the other hand, there are 87 fewer billionaires in the world this year.
