Janesich Paris Art Deco Onyx and Diamond Platinum Stick Pin

Sale price$19,500.00

A Janesich Masterpiece of Parisian Art Deco

A rare and signed Art Deco stick pin by Janesich, Paris, crafted in sculpted black onyx and platinum-set diamonds, exemplifying the bold modernist elegance of French high jewelry from the late 1920s.

This exceptional Art Deco stick pin is a fully authenticated creation by Janesich, Paris, one of the most refined and innovative high-jewelry houses of interwar France. Executed in hand-carved black onyx and platinum-set old-cut diamonds, the piece reflects the maison’s signature approach to sculptural design, movement, and contrast.

The onyx head is carved into a fluid, architectural form, treated as a true three-dimensional sculpture rather than a simple decorative element. Wrapping around the form is a striking spiral of rose-cut–set diamonds, rendered in platinum, creating a sense of motion and visual tension that distinguishes Janesich from the more rigid geometric style of traditional Art Deco.

A single brilliant diamond, set in a platinum bezel at the crown of the design, anchors the composition and draws the eye, highlighting the house’s mastery of balance between bold dark stone and luminous diamonds.

On the reverse, the jewel is signed “JANESICH PARIS”, clearly engraved into the platinum mount — a highly important detail, as many Janesich jewels were left unsigned. The presence of this signature confirms the origin of the piece and significantly enhances its rarity and collectability.

Stick pins of this caliber were created as luxury jewels for gentlemen, worn with cravats, ascots, and formal dress during the height of Parisian elegance. Janesich produced these pieces in very limited numbers, and surviving signed examples are now exceptionally rare on the international market.

This jewel represents not only a superb example of Art Deco design, but also a refined expression of Parisian high jewelry at its most creative and sculptural.

Rarity & Collectability

Signed Janesich hard stone jewels from the Art Deco period are extremely scarce. The combination of carved onyx, spiral diamond movement, and a fully signed Parisian mount places this piece among the most desirable examples of Janesich’s production. Such jewels are actively sought by collectors of Cartier-era Parisian design and are rarely encountered in this condition and quality.
