A rare art nouveau silver and 18k gold belt buckle with flowers and dragon flies by Lucien Gaillard. Signed L. Gaillard with french hallmarks. Lucien Gaillard (1861 - 1942) was a French goldsmith, jewelry designer who worked in the art nouveau style. Before jewelry Gaillard produced vases, bottles and small objects. In 1902 he was made a knight of the Legion of Honour. Some of Lucien Gaillard's work is inspired by Lalique also encouraged him to focus on jewelry making.
Buckle measures 3 inches in length and 1.6 in width.
