Miriam Haskell 1930’s Wood Leaf Brooch
Miriam Haskell 1930’s Multi Color Wood Leaf Brooch
Rare 1930's Unsigned Miriam Haskell by Frank Hess wood brooch in very good condition! Her jewelry was seldom signed before 1950, it was her brother Joseph Haskell who introduced the first regularly signed Miriam Haskell jewelry. Depression years followed by war years, brought about some of the wittiest and most absurd jewelry of the 20th century, and some of the most fun to wear. Wood jewelry was either assembled, as the wood beads mixed with plastic, glass and other materials, or carved and painted.
